A three year evaluation of the £4.5million Cultural Hubs programme to assess the effectiveness of partnerships between the arts, cultural and education sectors in delivery of a cultural offer to children and young people. Evaluation of The Museum and Gallery Strategic Commissioning Programme, a national development programme funded by the DCMS and DfES and delivered through the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council and Arts Council England.
The National Trust
Evaluation of the Untold Story project, a national scheme designed to develop new, creative and community based approaches to the interpretation of National Trust properties. We are carrying out the evaluation of individual projects within the context of the project as a whole. The work involves direct consultation with participants including school pupils (KS3, KS4 and post 16), youth group attenders, teachers, community groups, artists and elders.

Evaluation of the Souter Lighthouse KS1 schools programme in order to investigate whether it is fulfilling its objective of providing an exciting and accessible link to the science curriculum and investigating other opportunities to develop the Lighthouse as a resource for schools.

Evaluation of the Decibel programme in Yorkshire. Decibel was a one year project promoting Black and Asian artists in order to encourage diversity in the arts.
Arts Council England, Artsmark
Validator and Arts Council Project Team member for the Artsmark Award for schools. Assessment and validation of applications, national moderation and validator visits to schools. Research and consultation to develop the application procedures to include Pupil Referral Units. Delivery of regional Artsmark seminars to schools.
Audiences Yorkshire
Identification of key success indicators and implementation of a range of methods to evaluate the Arts Exchange, South Asian Arts Audience Development Project over a two year period.
Heritage Lottery Fund, Young Roots
Review and evaluation of the Young Roots pilot funding scheme testing the feasibility of a national roll out. Work included the evaluation of and recommendations for the management structures and systems for the national roll out resulting in a nationwide grant scheme worth ?20 million over 5 years. The second stage of the evaluation involved the development of innovative criteria for the monitoring and evaluation of arts/heritage learning in a community context, the evaluation of a sample of piloted projects against the aims and objectives of the programme and recommendations for the management, support and mentoring of community leaders in the development of creative heritage projects for community workers.</p>
Stretch Project, Artworks, Bradford
Evaluation of strategic Youth Arts Project with Artworks and Bradford Youth Service. Integration of evaluation methodology with Bradford Council Quality Audit Team.
Wakefield Cultural Services
Evaluation of the effectiveness of the Youth Arts Forum in Wakefield District. Consultation with key stakeholders to discover strengths and weaknesses and development of recommendations for future working.
Research for Policy and Planning
City of York Council
Community consultation, research and development of a Youth Arts Strategy for the City Council which reflected the unique nature of the City and the young people?s aspirations.
English Heritage, Heritage Lottery Fund, Yorkshire Museums Council
Community consultation, research and development of a strategy to increase visitor numbers to museums, galleries and heritage sites for people from Black and Asian communities. The exploration of structural, physical and psychological barriers to access and the creation of recommendations for staff and organisational development. Design of new consultation approach for the involvement of community consultants in the assessment of services. The report formed the basis for an application to the Heritage Lottery Fund for a region-wide action research project.
North Yorkshire County Council, Youth Arts Strategy
Community consultation, research and development of a County-wide youth arts strategy that will have an impact at County, District and local level. Consultation with young people and other key stakeholders to investigate strengths and weaknesses of current provision and discover opportunities for development. Integration of Youth Arts Strategy into the County Cultural Framework.
Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council, Community Regeneration
Review of the provision of Community Development and Support Services within RMBC Community Regeneration and Voluntary Action Rotherham. Research and development of recommendations on effective management structures, employment practice and service delivery.
Swinton Youth Action Group
Research into opportunities for the current and future provision of leisure and arts activities for young people in Swinton. Development of methods whereby young people had a significant input into the research process. Development of recommendations for the establishment of a strong infrastructure which would support the continued involvement of young people in the creation, planning and implementation of initiatives.
Trident New Deal for Communities, Arts Strategy development
As part of a team developed an Arts Strategy for Bradford Trident Neighbourhood Renewal which has resulted in the allocation of ?200,000 for arts-based regeneration activity in the area over the next two years.
Arts Council England Yorkshire
Undertook a major consultation exercise with South Asian artists and arts organisations across the region to identify opportunities for development of the sector. Established and ran Aaj Kal, a regional conference on training for the sector and investigated gaps in provision. These initiatives resulted in the development of an audience development project, entitled ARTS EXCHANGE and the European funded BUSINESS EXCHANGE project from which the Arts & Business and CIDA initiatives emerged.
Organisational Development
Northern College of Acupuncture
The development of new organisational and legal structures which reflect the way in which the organisation wishes to work. The management of change from a private company to one with Charitable Status. Training needs analysis, staff and Board development. Introduction of new policies and plans following consultation with senior management and Board.
External Combustion
Development of Business Plan for a sculpture-based, pyrotechnic company with a national reputation. Research and development of a tailor-made marketing strategy to reflect the unique nature of the organisation's product.
Leeds Centre for Indian Music and Dance
Training of staff and Board on organisational and financial management issues. The research and creation of a Business Plan for the planned development of the organisation over the next three years. Identification of funding and income generation sources.
Milap
Development of a Business Plan and funding application for this South Asian performing arts company. Resulted in a successful RALP bid which has contributed towards the future development of the organisation as a major South Asian Festival across the north.
Pavilion
Development of a Marketing Strategy for this photo-based organisation which is emerging as a multi-media producer, creatively developing content for the new technologies. Identified new target audiences for the work, set up staff induction systems and evaluation and monitoring systems.
South Asian Music Consortium
The development of organisational structures, a Business Plan and funding applications for this new and emerging consortium developing a British South Asian music infrastructure across the Midlands and the North.
Vincent Dance Theatre
Organisational development and business planning. Exploration of new management options for growing a contemporary dance company.
Feasibility Studies
Cheshire County Council
Testing the feasibility of the devolution of the Arts Advisory Service from the County Council. Production of an options appraisal and support with managing the change from an LEA based to an independent organisation.
The Garden Rooms
Working with community business and micro businesses in Sheffield to test the feasibility of developing a Little Mesters building into self-financing artists? studios and performance/exhibition space. Worked with architects to develop outline designs and a Business Plan to provide the basis of a funding bid for Objective One. Identification of other funding sources and work with the voluntary committee to develop project and financial management skills.
Kirklees Cultural Services
Undertook extensive consultation and research with schools, colleges, youth workers and artists across Kirklees to contribute to the Stage One capital feasibility study for Batley, Huddersfield, Cleckheaton and Dewsbury town halls. The final policy document fed into the overall feasibility study for the capital development of the town halls (undertaken in association with Jackson Quigg Associates).
mind the...gap
As part of the Capital Project Development team worked with staff and Board members to develop an integrated education and training plan for this theatre company which specialises in work made by and for adults with learning disabilities. The plan contributed towards the Stage Two Capital application to the Arts Council.
South Square Centre
Working with the voluntary committee of the South Square Arts Centre undertook consultation and market research to develop its organisational structures, programming and marketing. Exploration of funding and income generation opportunities which resulted in a successful bid to RALP. Currently working with the Development Officer on the creation of a capital bid for the refurbishment of the community gallery/performance space.
Wakefield LEA
Feasibility study and development of Business Plan for a new Arts Education agency in Wakefield District. Establishment of management and support networks for the new agency and fundraising for a two-year Action Research pilot project.
Arts Council England Yorkshire
Consultation with Local Authority Officers, Yorkshire Arts Officers and Arts Organisations to evaluate the feasibility of rolling out the Regional Arts Board's Onward Delegation programme pilot scheme to local authorities in the Yorkshire region.

Research, development and delivery of of an induction and training programme for creatives working in schools.

Research and development of a UK-wide Board Development training programme to build the effectiveness of governance within arts and heritage organisations.
Arts & Business Yorkshire (Previously YHBiA)
Research, development and delivery of support and training services for black and Asian cultural businesses as part of a Positive Action Programme for the strategic development of sustainable growth within the sector. Research into opportunities for the involvement of ethnic minority professionals and organisations into Arts & Business Board Bank and Skills Advisers programmes.

Developmental Needs Analysis, training and business support for a range of creative businesses based in Yorkshire.
Setpoint West Yorkshire
Design and delivery of training for science and engineering professionals working as Ambassadors in schools. Development of training materials for the integration of museums and heritage collections into the science curriculum.
